In 2004,100 million tons of cargo flowed through the New York / New Jersey terminals.The cargo movement provided nearly 122,550 direct full-time-equivalent jobs in the region (20% above the year 2000 count); the lion's share (63.6%) of these direct jobs were at distribution centers.
